The Lead For Taiwan team is exceptionally warm and welcoming. During the internship, the four team members we worked closely with introduced themselves and shared their journeys with critical thinking, and we as interns shared our own perspectives. The team gave thoughtful feedback, sparking meaningful discussions about our past experiences with critical thinking education or the lack thereof and comparisons between the UK and Taiwan systems. Exchanging ideas with passionate peers was truly enriching. I was assigned to the Education Development Department, where I organized and archived documents and designed forms related to critical thinking education. My background in civic education aligned with these tasks, and I also visited a high school every Monday to observe an elective course. The instructor’s bold approach of introducing current events, arguments, and debates broadened students’ worldviews.The hands-on learning and mentorship provided a rewarding opportunity to grow and contribute meaningfully to the organization’s mission. Working at a startup like Lead For Taiwan offered the chance to engage in diverse tasks. Beyond my primary role in the Education Development Department—observing high school micro-courses, organizing teaching materials, and compiling feedback for trainer development—I also assisted with administrative duties.
