National Taiwan University (NTU) hosted the 2025 International Talent Cultivation Appreciation Banquet, bringing together 240 partners and students to celebrate the year’s efforts and achievements.
Since 2022, NTU has advanced talent cultivation through initiatives such as the International Mentorship Program (IMP), MasterTalk, the Overseas Internship Program (OIP), and the iNGO Academy. To mark the successful conclusion of these four programs this year, mentors, students, and representatives from companies and organizations joined together for the 2025 banquet.
Distinguished attendees included NTU President Prof. Wen-Chang Chen, Executive Vice President Prof. Shih-Torng Ding, Vice President for International Affairs Dr. Hsiao-Wei Yuan, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Hung-Jen Wang, and Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Shi-Wei Chu.
In his remarks, President Chen emphasized NTU’s global role:
“Our mission is to cultivate leaders—not only for Taiwan, but for the world. To succeed, we must provide our students with opportunities that both nurture and challenge their talents.”

Vice President Yuan also highlighted the contributions of the community behind the programs:
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to our mentors, supervisors, coordinators, partners, NTU colleagues, and students. Today is a celebration of everyone’s contributions, trust, and belief in international talent cultivation.”

The event showcased the invaluable support of NTU’s partners. Special thanks went to Zhan Lu Coffee for providing hand-drip coffee, the State of Washington Taiwan Office for sponsoring Bassetts ice cream, Orange Shabu Shabu for desserts including almond tofu, orange milk tea, pre-market release cream puffs, and lemon cake, and Nap Tea for a selection of specialty drinks. The Office of International Affairs also prepared Mid-Autumn Festival gift boxes, featuring products from the NTU Farm and a co-branded collaboration with Nap Tea, to add a festive atmosphere to the event.

Performances brought further vibrancy to the banquet. Sam Garcia, an alumnus of the Graduate Institute of Musicology, performed two inspirational songs—我的未來不是夢 (My Future Is Not a Dream) and 向前走 (Go Forward). Carlsson Leong Ting Kang (梁定崗), a Malaysian alumnus from the Department of Information Management, gave a heartfelt performance of 棉照被 (Covered with a Cotton Quilt), adding a rich cultural touch to the evening. A photobooth was also a highlight, with many guests capturing memories to take home.

Looking ahead, 2026 will mark the fifth anniversary of our programs—an important milestone underscoring the continuity and impact of NTU’s talent cultivation efforts. Preparations are already underway for what promises to be a pivotal year to deepen partnerships, expand opportunities, and reaffirm NTU’s commitment to guiding students as they explore and shape their future career paths.
