Course Introduction

This session explores how Taiwan can be thoughtfully presented to global audiences through screen and online content. Drawing on work at TaiwanPlus, award‑winning productions, and university teaching experience, the class examines how to transform complex social and political issues into clear, emotionally resonant stories for international viewers. We will unpack the full pipeline of international content production, from framing and research to scripting, visual choices, and distribution across different platforms. Special attention will be given to cross‑cultural communication: how language, metaphors, and narrative structure must shift when speaking to audiences with little prior knowledge of Taiwan.
