The Southeast Asia-South Asia-Taiwan (SEASAT) Youth Camp is an annual flagship event organized by the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) since its establishment. It seeks to connect 40 aspiring leaders, aged 18 to 27, from across Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Taiwan, as well as like-minded countries, to exchange ideas, establish mutual understanding, and collaborate on shared issues.
In particular, the SEASAT Youth Camp strives to
Enabling Youth in Shaping Future Asia
In today's world of opportunities and risks, Asia plays a critical role on both sides. In navigating these wide-ranging issues, we believe multistakeholder collaboration that pools diverse talent can shape a better future for the region, especially by bringing in young leaders. On this note, the theme of the 2024 SEASAT Youth Camp is “Enabling Youth in Shaping Future Asia,” which aims to empower youth in Asia to become leaders who can act to create change and inspire others to follow suit.
The SEASAT Youth Camp will provide the delegates with three series of sessions:
1. The guide to refer to: What does it take to become a leader?
These sessions feature speeches and panels where delegates will engage in deep conversations with decision-makers and emerging leaders, learning from their experiences.
2. The space to think: How can we make things work?
The sessions feature interactive classes that will provide delegates with opportunities to think differently about familiar topics or explore new ideas.
3. The tool to act: Where do we start?
In sessions such as workshops and case study presentations, delegates will roll up their sleeves to propose solutions to global challenges and learn that it is not as difficult as imagined to take the first step.
Topics covered:
Delegates will work in teams to consolidate what they have learned, along with researching, debating, and brainstorming solutions for global challenges. Through group work, delegates will enhance their communication skills and cultivate respectful interactions with peers to expand their understanding of the world.
While work time will be provided during the sessions, delegates should anticipate some additional work to be completed outside of the scheduled hours.
