【News Reshare】Q POWER Award: Taiwan Equality Campaign Elevate LGBTQ+ Voices Through Art

Although Taiwan's same-sex marriage law came into effect in 2019, the LGBTQ+ community continues to face numerous misunderstandings and biases in everyday life. The "Q POWER" exhibition, a first-time collaboration between the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei, and the Taiwan Equality Campaign, showcases 25 shortlisted works for the Q POWER Awards. The categories include the "Q Video Award," "Q Music Award," "Q Campaign Award," "Q Literature Award," and the "Q POWER Spirit Award." These works tell diverse stories about LGBTQ+ experiences in various forms.

The press conference featured key figures such as Museum of Contemporary, Taipei, Art Director Li-Chen Loh, Taiwan Equality Campaign Executive Director Joyce Teng, and curator Huang Yuanjun from the Ripples Design team. In celebration of the fifth anniversary of same-sex marriage, they also invited Tong Zixian, Chairman of Pegatron Corporation, a long-time advocate of marriage equality and gender issues.

Through the power of art, the organizers hope to foster greater understanding and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community in society, ensuring that every story can make an impact.
