In addition to daily internships and NGO skills courses, the International NGO Academy also took students to various international NGO visits to gain in-depth understanding and exchange ideas on various issues!
One-Forty
Students first visited One-Forty, where they embarked on a guided tour through the characters, landscapes, and installation art displayed on the photo wall, experiencing the journey of migrant workers from learning languages in broker agency, coming to Taiwan to develop their second skills and eventually returning to their home countries to develop their careers. Under the organization's guidance, students also discussed the potential problems and solutions that migrant workers may encounter during this journey, reflecting on how to contribute their efforts.
Médecins Sans Frontières
In the afternoon, students visited Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) to further understand the organization's history, structure, core values, and the emergency medical assistance it provides globally. Through the organization's guidance, students conducted a case analysis of the cholera outbreak zone, simulating themselves as frontline commanders. They discussed whether to let medical staff provide healthcare services vigorously in conflict areas, withdraw to ensure the health and safety of frontline colleagues, or opt for a third option. In the discussion, conflicts between humanitarian values during rescue operations and the dilemmas faced by frontline personnel were presented.
Through a day of organizational visits, students interacted directly with organization members, understanding the difficulties faced in executing their ideas, but also witnessing firsthand the organization's efforts to realize its values.
