Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent organisation. We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of impartiality, independence, and neutrality. We are a non-profit, self-governed, member-based organization.
MSF established an office in Taipei in 2016, and officially established the Médecins Sans Frontières Foundation in 2019. Our primary objective is to enhance awareness among the people in Taiwan regarding MSF’s humanitarian medical actions and humanitarian crises through education and engagement activities and media engagement. We also mobilized people in Taiwan to actively participate in MSF's public participation and fundraising activities to support MSF's medical actions, while also interacting with civil society in Taiwan. In addition, we assist in the recruitment of international mobile staff in Taiwan, encouraging medical and non-medical professionals to join and work with our teams in the field.
【Communications Department】
In the medical humanitarian work of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), "témoignage" (bearing witness and speaking out) is one of our principles, and communications plays an integral role in this mission. As an organisation founded by doctors and journalists, raising awareness about situations our field workers witness is fundamental to what we do. We prioritise diversity, equity, and inclusion in portraying our humanitarian action, global workforce, and the communities we serve.
The Communications Department at MSF Taiwan develops and delivers public messaging about MSF's medical activities and humanitarian principles to audiences in Taiwan. Through strategic communications, we expose field realities and challenges while raising awareness about the populations we serve and the medical humanitarian crises we address.
Our work spans multiple channels including media relations, digital platforms, public events, and advocacy campaigns. We support MSF's mission by increasing organizational visibility to facilitate field worker recruitment, humanitarian advocacy, and fundraising activities.
