Course 3 - UN Development Programme: Impact Measurement and Management in Practice

This course shifts the focus from ESG risk protection to IMM value creation, establishing impact as a strategic "value management" tool. Students will follow the UNDP IMM Journey—from Awareness to Verification—to align organizational goals with the SDGs through both public policy and private investment lenses. Using the Impact Value Chain, the curriculum employs a results-oriented approach, mapping the progression from immediate Inputs to long-term social Impact. This framework challenges students to integrate impact data into core decision-making to bridge the SDG financing gap.

The practical workshop utilizes the "Five Dimensions of Impact" to scrutinize real-world cases, ranging from national budget tagging to corporate sustainability. Students will practice defining Impact Goals and mapping logical pathways to ensure their interventions create measurable additionality. The course concludes with the formulation of a professional Impact Statement that balances financial returns with societal value.
