Whether it’s a school report or an internship presentation, the ability to distill rich content into a clear and memorable presentation has become an essential skill for today’s students. To help interns in the iNGO Academy & Overseas Internship Program enhance their presentation and visual design skills, NTUOIA specially organized this hands-on PresentationDesign Workshop
NTUOIA invited the award-winning designer Bo Yang, a Red Dot Design Award and Adobe Top Talent recipient, to guide students in building core presentation design skills from the ground up!
The course progresses from basic tools to advanced techniques, where students journeyed from mastering the basics to experimenting with more advanced techniques. Colors, typography, layout logic—all the details that often go unnoticed—were revealed as the hidden architecture that makes a presentation not just look good, but also hold together with clarity and purpose.
Bo also shared his design thinking process. Rather than treating slides as decoration, he encouraged participants to think like communicators: Who is the audience? What story should the structure tell? Where should the eye land first? How can visuals amplify meaning instead of distracting from it? In framing these questions, Bo gave students a roadmap for transforming content into strategy, and strategy into impact..In the hands-on segment, students worked on their own presentation decks in real time, applying new insights and receiving immediate feedback. A color tweak here, a shift in hierarchy there—and suddenly, a cluttered slide became a clear, compelling narrative. In that instant, design theory stopped being abstract and turned into an empowering tool.
Through this workshop, students not only improved their design and communication abilities but also learned how to convey ideas through both visuals and logic. Whether it's for academic presentations, workplace briefings, or project proposals, they are now better equipped to confidently express themselves and boost their impact!
