My internship in Mustard Seed Mission were fulfilling, offering deep insights into NPO operations, which focus on impact rather than profit. My main tasks included translating fundraising materials, the annual report, and activity manuals, and assisting with sponsor outreach. I also visited exhibitions and volunteered at events, such as a beach cleanup with AMD, where I led 40 participants in collecting 475KG of marine litter. Translating the annual report deepened my understanding of Mustard Seed’s mission and operations. As my major in Finance, I realized that NPOs and finance are not completely separate. With the recent trend of ESG, more and more companies are investing in NPOs as partners. NPOs is gradually moving towards commercialization, and in the future, there will likely be more corporate battles. Therefore, I have a great opportunity to apply this experience in my future development.
