During my internship at Calls Over Ridges (COR), I worked in the Global Operations & HR team and was able to contribute to a variety of projects that gave me insight into both the operational and cultural side of an iNGO. A major project I was involved in was the ongoing revision of COR’s organizational values. I collaborated with the project lead and external facilitator, helped coordinate interviews with the co-founders, and supported the process of identifying key challenges such as gaps in alignment and cultural differences. I also helped organize and facilitate values workshops for different departments, preparing materials, supporting the smooth execution of the sessions, and later assisting in compiling and analyzing outcomes. Alongside this, I contributed to recruitment and onboarding. My tasks included reaching out to candidates, managing interview logistics, and reviewing and updating onboarding materials to ensure new members understood COR’s structure and expectations. I also helped expand outreach by setting up LinkedIn job slots, which improved visibility and applications. In addition, I supported the development of an internal Code of Conduct, considering how to make it relevant across cultural contexts. A highlight was being part of COR’s annual donor event in Taipei, where I supported logistics and saw the impact of COR’s work presented by local leaders. Overall, I am proud of contributing to values alignment, recruitment improvements, and cultural development, while learning how iNGOs combine mission-driven work with innovation and collaboration.
