Throughout my internship at TDDA, I have enhanced my research skills while engaging with coworkers in a dynamic environment. My mentor explained TDDA’s focus on newsletters and research, and I was assigned to projects aligned with my strengths. With her guidance, I became more confident working bilingually and learned to manage tasks by confirming deadlines in advance. I contributed to research for multiple projects, including a potential collaboration with Taiwan’s diplomatic allies on a heritage festival, where I applied branding and marketing concepts from class. Later, I helped prepare for a large-scale citizen diplomacy event, assisting with logistics, writing introductions for partner organizations, and supporting promotional work. I also conducted research to support our CEO’s upcoming diplomatic visit to Belgium and background preparation for the AI Expo in the United States. My internship was filled with dynamic learning experiences. I was able to contribute meaningfully to TDDA’s work while sharpening my own professional skills in research, communication, organization, and cross-cultural collaboration. I also gained a deeper appreciation for the complexities of international diplomacy, event planning, and nonprofit outreach. This internship not only allowed me to develop practical skills, but also helped me better understand the kind of work I’d like to pursue in the future.
